Lafayette Parish Adult & Community Education is registering students for upcoming day and night classes. New day classes are starting at the Bertrand Learning Center (1101 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, LA 70506) and at the LeRosen Learning Center (516 East Pinhook Road, Lafayette, LA 70501).
Evening adult education classes are also offered throughout the Lafayette area. Enrolling in classes is
recommended as the first step to taking the HiSET (high school equivalency test). The HiSET is the new
assessment chosen by Louisiana to replace the GED exam.
The upcoming session begins on August 13th and students may register on any Friday at the old LeRosen
Elementary school located at 516 East Pinhook Road, Lafayette, LA 70501 or by appointment for night
At registration, potential students will complete enrollment paperwork and take an initial assessment to determine placement. Potential students interested should report by 8:30 a.m. and anticipate staying to complete the assessment until 2:30 p.m. A break for lunch on your own will be included in the day. Students should bring a Social Security card, State ID (such as a driver's license) and withdrawal papers if applicable.
Additionally, the LPSS Adult Education department provides English as a Second Language classes.
These classes are offered in the morning and evening and begin on August 26th and registration is held
every Tuesday evening at 5:00 p.m. at the Bertrand Learning Center (1101 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, LA
