Lafayette No. 1 in post-recession economic survey

Lafayette has topped another national list. This time, it's for economic development after the Great Recession. The magazine Area Development surveyed economic and work force data in all 380 metropolitan statistical areas in the United States. The magazine ranked the Lafayette MSA, which consists of Lafayette and St. Martin Parishes, as the nation's leading location for economic and job growth. In an interview with Area Development, LEDA President and CEO Gregg Gothreaux attributes the area's growth to the energy and healthcare industries.
