Lafayette Middle Schools Locked Down After Suicide Threat

UPDATE: All middle schools in Lafayette were on lockdown yesterday after a hostile individual was seen in the area. According to police, the individual is believed to be connected to the suicide threat investigated earlier Tuesday.

Traffic is slowed along Johnston Street as Lafayette Parish Sheriff's officials investigate a reported suicide threat. It happened at a residence near the intersection of E. Broussard Road and Johnston Street in Lafayette.

Witnesses say, there are several law enforcement cars in the parking lot of The Brake Shop in the 6700 block of Johnston Street (LA-167). The individual who they were looking for at a residence near the business has not yet been located.
