Lafayette City Marshal deputies arrested one FLOYD JAMES DARBY, JR. in the 1000 block of Ninth Street in Lafayette this date. DARBY was wanted for an ARMED ROBBERY on June 12, 2010. While armed with a dangerous weapon Darby robbed his victim of $400.00 in U. S. Currency. The victim was parked in the driveway of her residence when DARBY drove up in a car next to hers. Darby walked up to her vehicle armed with a handgun and demanded money. The victim gave DARBY her wallet which contained the money. DARBY was identified by the victim from a photographic line up on June 15, 2010.
DARBY has had 31 previous arrests dating back to 1995. The arrest included
DISTURBING THE PEACE BY FIGHTING; CONTRIBUTING TO THE DELINQUENCY OF A JUVENILE; AGGRAVATED BATTERY WITH A KNIFE and AGGRAVATED ASSAULT WITH A BOTTLE; FAILURE TO APPEAR FOR TRIAL; RESISTING AN OFFICER; POSSESSION WITH INTENT TO DISTRICT CRACK COCAINE; SECOND DEGREE BATTERY; SIMPLE ROBBERY; ATTEMPTED SECOND DEGREE MURDER; FORGERY; ILLEGAL USE and ILLEGAL CARRYING OF A WEAPON; MONIES DERIVED FROM DRUG SALES and CARRYING A CONCEALED WEAPON BY A CONVICTED FELON.
