Lafayette Man Pleads Guilty to Production of Child Porn.

United States Attorney Stephanie A. Finley announced today that Cedric Conner, age 37, of Lafayette, pled guilty on Monday, before U.S. Magistrate Judge C. Michael Hill in federal court in Lafayette, to production of child pornography charges.

According to court documents, Conner, while baby sitting a 7-year-old minor female, photographed her in sexually explicit poses. Some of those photographs not only included the child, but also included Conner engaging in sexually explicit acts while in the presence of the child.

At sentencing, Conner faces a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of not less than 15 years nor more than 30 years in prison. Sentencing in this matter will be set at a later date.

The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney John Luke Walker.
