Lafayette Man Charged with Robbing Taxi Driver

A Lafayette man is in jail and another is wanted for allegedly robbing a taxi driver at gunpoint. The incident took place Sunday night around 11:00 in the 800 block of Twelfth Street. Police say 20-year-old Herbert Montgomery, III, pulled a handgun on the driver and demanded money. Montgomery is charged with armed robbery. An alleged accomplice, 20-year-old Kendall Traller, is wanted on a principal to armed robbery charge. If you know Traller's whereabouts, call Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
