Lafayette Man Arrested for Forgery and Theft

The Lafayette City Marshal's Office has reported the arrest of Kurt John.
Authorities say John was arrested without incident in the 3900 block of Ridge Road on October 1.
Kurt John was accused of acquiring a book of stolen checks and issuing nine of those checks to businesses within Lafayette. Also, he was said to have attempted to issue two additional checks at other businesses, but those transactions were declined.
Warrants for John's arrest, issued on September 25, include, 9 counts of forgery, 2 counts of attempted theft and 7 counts of theft.
Kurt John was booked into the Lafayette Parish Jail.
