Lafayette Man Arrested for Allegedly Trying to Strike Girlfriend with Car

A Lafayette man is charged with Attempted Second Degree murder after a verbal altercation with his girlfriend. At approximately 2:48 pm Saturday, Lafayette Police responded to the 3200 block of Ambassador Caffery Parkway regarding a disturbance. According to witnesses, the victim was involved in a verbal altercation with her boyfriend and fled to a nearby business on foot. The suspect pursued the victim in a vehicle, allegedly trying to strike her with the vehicle. Witnesses said the suspect drove over curbs, bushes and in areas not designed for vehicle travel in an attempt to strike the victim.

The suspect, Joshua Broussard, 22 years old of Lafayette, was arrested and charged with Attempted 2nd Degree Murder. The victim, a 26 year old female of Lafayette, received minor injuries.
