Lafayette man arrested 6 counts of sexual battery of the infirmed

According to Vermilon Parish Sheriff Mike Couvillon, one Lafayette man has been arrested following a two week long investigation by the Vermilion Parish Sheriff's criminal investigations division into allegations to sexual battery of the infirmed.

Sheriff Couvillon says that Jessie Lavergne, white male, dob 05/27/39 of 519 Kevin Drive Lafayette, La. was arrested by Vermilion Parish Detectives on 12/18/09 for 6 counts of sexual battery of the infirmed and is being held in the Vermilion Parish Correctional Center on a $250,000.00 bond.

Sheriff Souvillon says that Lavergne was employed as a private duty nurse and was caring for a quadriplegic patient with no communication ability at the time of his arrest.
