Lafayette man accused of attempted 2nd degree murder

A 27-year-old Lafayette man is accused of attempted second degree murder for shooting a victim during an argument Saturday.

Lafayette Police officers responded to the 100 Block of Delahoussaye Drive at 3:30 p.m. August 2nd. Witnesses reported to officers that the victim and suspect were arguing when the suspect shot the victim twice with a handgun and then fled the area, according to police.

During the course of the investigation detectives were able to identify the suspect as Terrence Celestine.

A warrant was issued for the arrest of Celestine for attempted second degree murder. Celestine turned himself in on Sunday to law enforcement and was booked into jail.

The victim was transported to the hospital and remains in guarded condition, according to police.

Bond was set at $150,000.
