If you're looking to check out Christmas lights in Lafayette over the next few days, your first stop should be www.lafayettelights.com
The website details some of the biggest and brightest displays in the area, like the Couvillion family's home at 608 Belle Grove Boulevard in Lafayette. The Couvillion's display features more than 25-thousand lights, which are synced to Christmas music, creating a real treat for the eyes and ears.
"I do it for the kids," said Kevin Couvillion, who starts planning his display months in advance. "It brings me back to when I was a child."
Couvillion won best overall choice on the Lafayette Lights website last year. The site allows users to register and vote for their favorite display, right up until Christmas Day. This year's winners will be announced next week.
"There are some families that have gone all out," said Jaci Russo, who started the Lafayette Lights website. "Then there are people like me who just want to know where the lights are, so they're using it as a tool and a guide to see where to go!"
