Now a story you might find on HGTV or read about in Architectural Digest. A house right here in Lafayette that is the first of it's kind in the Southeast.
When you think of "go green houses" you probably think states like California, maybe Arizona- where the earthy crunchy reside. But on Whittington Drive, there's what's called a "Passive House." That's a term architects use to classify how much energy a home uses. And in this case, not much at all. The designer of the house is a UL professor of architecture.
Originally, the house wasn't supposed to be a house at all, but a fence. The professor wanted to make an enclosed play area for his children, but the project went in a much more dynamic direction.
The house is highly efficient, low on energy and all the construction materials are eco-friendly.
