Lafayette High Student Wins President Scholar Award

Lafayette High Schools' Daniel Comeaux is one of two in the state and 141 in the nation to win the Presidents Scholar Award.

Comeaux received a perfect score on the SAT in math and reading.

That qualified him to be nominated after filling out a lengthy application with six essays Comeaux was selected out of 500 semifinalists.

In addition to Comeaux, Lafayette High School teacher Dwayne Edwards will receive a distinguished Teacher Award.

Comeaux's trip to the White House is paid for by the program. He'll get to spend three days there and meet the president on one of them.
