LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - A Lafayette Parish grand jury has returned indictments in two first-degree murder cases, one involving a 9-year-old boy and a second involving a double homicide inside a Lafayette home.
On Wednesday, The Advocate reports the grand jury charged Ronjoerox Hamilton with the first-degree murder of 9-year-old Dylan Royer.
Hamilton brought the unconscious boy to a local hospital late on the night of June 11. He died the next day.
In a second case, the grand jury indicted Eric Abshire in the first-degree murders of Lemuel Brown, and his stepdaughter, Lona Carter, both of Lafayette.
An arrest affidavit noted that witnesses told police that Abshire had been at the home the night before and was consuming illegal drugs at the time.
