Lafayette Five Business Burglaries and Attempted Business Burglaries

Lafayette police are looking for one man they say broke into and tried to break into five businesses between 2:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.

The suspect is accused of stealing a flat screen computer display combination worth four-thousand dollars from South Louisiana Community College. Police later recovered it near a tree on campus. At the Thibodeaux Career and Technical School, nothing was stolen but police say he rummaged through electronic equipment. Bayou Shadows Apartments fitness center reported someone tried to remove a TV and ceiling mount. Police were called to another business, Scrapbook with Tim, where cash was stolen. The suspect tried but was unable to break into a neighboring suite.

Sgt. Mark Francis says police are looking for a white man wearing a face mask - half of it black. He's about 5"8' tall and wore a black sweatshirt and dark pants. He was driving a silver Honda, with LED lights and a spoiler. A witness gave a partial plate description with the letters TES. Anyone with information is asked to call 232-TIPS.
