Lafayette Fire Believed to Be Arson

Press Release: At 1:30 this morning, Lafayette Fire Department responded to 1526 N. Bertrand Drive to a reported commercial fire. Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy flames coming from the front entrance of the vacant building. The structure had been vacant for several years. The fire was extinguished within twenty minutes. The building sustained heavy fire damage. There were no injuries.

Fire investigators determined that the fire originated in the office area. The fire was intentionally set. This was the second fire at this address within the last two weeks. Anyone with information is ask to call Crime Stoppers at 232- TIPS.
