A family in Lafayette is finding a creative way to get out of debt. They started video blogging on YouTube, every day. It's not just a way to make money, but it's turned into a way of capturing life's moments.
For 1150 days, three and a half years, Lane Fournerat has been documenting his life on the internet.
"It's amazing how you can grow an audience from one video to one every day. People really start to get to know you," he said.
Fournerat is the only daily video blogger in Lafayette. He started vlogging in 2008 as a way to get out of debt. Now, thousands of people subscribe to his channel just to watch his life unfold. He partners with YouTube and viewers log onto his channel. For every ad that appears, he gets paid.
"Now that it's grown so much you forget that there's people out there watching and you just do your thing," he added.
One of Fournerat's YouTube channels,The Funnyrats, features him, his wife, his daughter, and unborn son. It's what he calls the "real" reality TV.
"You see them on YouTube talking and sharing their lives and you can jump on Twitter and Facebook and start chatting back and forth. Anybody with kids knows how much joy they bring to life and that just exemplifies more through video," he added.
