After 35 years at the Lafayette Chamber of Commerce, President and CEO Rob Guidry has announced his retirement, although he won't say goodbye until the end of 2013. Guidry announced his retirement about a year and half in advance to give the chamber ample time to conduct a search for his successor. "There are extraordinary opportunities out there. I plan to remain fully engaged in the business and social aspects of the community," Guidry told the board. Guidry was a staff member for 10 years and has been president and CEO for the past 25 years.
"I commend Rob for his professionalism and transparency in providing the organization with the opportunity to be deliberate and measured in its approach to finding a successor," said Chamber Chairman of the Board, Jerry Greig.
