City officials representing Lafayette and Broussard say they've settled their differences involving a Broussard lawsuit that challenged Lafayette's annexation of Plantation Oaks.
City-Parish President Joey Durel and Broussard Mayor Charles Langlinais announced the settlement in a news release.
A consent decree was issued in 15th Judicial District Court on Wednesday.
Broussard agreed not to annex land in the area between Ambassador Caffery Parkway on the north and Chemin Metairie on the east, except for a tract Broussard has already annexed and is the subject of another court fight with Lafayette.
Broussard also agreed to provide the same access to the Lafayette Utilities System that it gives other providers of similar services.
