A Lafayette attorney has been appointed as Claims Administrator of the BP Oil Spill Settlement Program. Patrick Juneau is replacing Kenneth Feinberg. U.S District Judge Carl Barbier ordered the move as part of a proposed multibillion-dollar settlement between BP and plaintiffs' attorneys representing more than 100,000 individuals and businesses.
Juneau will oversee the transition process which will include the Gulf Coast Claims Facilities, which are now under Feinberg. After the transition, Juneau will be responsible for the Court Supervised Claims Program that will replace Feinberg's program.
