A new fundraiser cooked up by Chef Gilbert Decourt offers Lafayette residents an opportunity to raise money for Lafayette Animal Aid while having a world-class chef cook in their own homes.
To participate in "Cooking It Up, For a Cause" and get Decourt's services at your house "free of charge," simply message the chef, he says, on Facebook and he will respond.
Decourt says he is available for cooking classes or dinners on the evening of the homeowner's choice. Decourt says that if the resident at least pays for food cost, any additional money collected will be donated will go directly to Lafayette Animal Aid.
Decourt said he is doing this because he feels like so many animals need our help to find peace and love.
Decourt is asking those interested in participating please be patient and flexible because he is coordinating these cooking events with his regular full-time job.
The staff, volunteers and board of directors of Lafayette Animal Aid released a statement of gratitude for the chef's efforts to support animal rescue in Lafayette.
"Chef Gilbert, we are so appreciative and want you to know that we are so blessed to have you in our circle of supportive friends," the statement reads.
