LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - Lafayette Regional Airport had the second-best March on record in terms of passenger activity.
Last month, 18,763 passengers boarded planes at the airport.
The Advertiser reports another 18,815 passengers de-planed, which was also the second-highest number on record for the month.
Lafayette Airport Commission Chairman Paul Guilbeau said in a statement that load factors, or the number of passengers flying on an airline compared to the number of seats available, continued to be strong in March for all three carriers. Delta Connection, American Eagle and United all had load factors of more than 64 percent for the month.
Enplaned cargo totaled 944,000 pounds, and de-planed cargo totaled 1.1 million pounds.
