LAE presents Louisiana Stakeholders Speak Out: A Discussion Surrounding Issues Impacting Our Public Schools. The LAE will host a Lafayette-area forum Thursday, February 21st at the David Thibodaux STEM Magnet Academy. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m. and the forum starts at 6:00 p.m.

The forum will consist of open, honest discussions between a panel of local education stakeholders, community leaders, teachers, parents, and legislative members. The goal is that participants will focus upon the most pressing issues that stand to affect Louisiana's public schools: the use of high stakes testing, vouchers and school privatization efforts, school funding cuts, teacher evaluation changes, loss of elected school board control of public schools, parent involvement, and the need for teacher professional development.

Topics: Education Forum, LAE, STEM ACADEMY
