RUSTON, La. (AP) - Louisiana Tech's College of Engineering and Science has received an anonymous pledge of $500,000 in support of the Campaign for a New Integrated Engineering and Science Building, pushing the campaign past the $5 million mark with a total of $5.46 million having been raised.
The new total also includes a $50,000 gift from Orion Marine Group in Houston.
Stan Napper, vice president for research and development for Louisiana Tech and former dean of the College of Engineering and Science, tells The News-Star (http://tnsne.ws/1cZupGD) moving the campaign past the $5 million mark shows how much college alumni and area industry support this endeavor. He says the public needs to be aware of this project which is the college's single most important need.
