MINDEN, La. (AP) - Relatives and friends are remembering U.S.
Army Spc. Josh Tomlinson as a man who had a sense of purpose, yet
loved to smile and have fun.
Tomlinson, a 24-year-old from Dubberly, was among five U.S.
soldiers killed in a car bombing May 18 in Kabul, Afghanistan.
The Times of Shreveport reports that during Tomlinson's funeral
Saturday at First Baptist Church of Minden, mourners watched a
slideshow about Tomlinson's life and praised his dedication to the
Tomlinson joined the Army about a year after graduating from
Lakeside High School in 2004. He was stationed in Germany after
basic training and was deployed to Afghanistan in September.
Among his survivors is his widow, Rowena Tomlinson.
