La. man sentenced for not paying child support

BRANDON, Miss. (AP) - A Louisiana man has been sentenced to serve eight months in prison for failing to pay support for his child in Mississippi.
Attorney General Jim Hood says 49-year-old Mark Bushnell, of Alexandria, La., pleaded guilty Monday in Rankin County Circuit Court. Bushnell was sentenced to five years with eight months to serve in prison and the remainder under post-release supervision.
Hood says Bushnell is to pay an additional $200 a month on top of his regular child support obligation until his arrearage of $25,000 is paid in full.
