NEW ORLEANS (AP) - A Hammond man has pleaded guilty to filing a false federal income tax return.
Federal prosecutors say John Ndanyi failed to report more than $105,000 of income from his business, Peppi's Services LLC, on the 2008 return he filed with the Internal Revenue Service. Ndanyi allegedly reported having no income that year.
Prosecutors say he failed to pay more than $85,000 in taxes between tax years 2006 and 2008.
Ndanyi faces a maximum sentence of three years in prison and a $250,000 fine following his guilty plea Thursday. His sentencing is set for May 24.
