NEW ORLEANS (AP) - A Metairie man had been sentenced to more than two years in prison for robbing a bank last year.
U.S. District Judge Sarah Vance also on Tuesday sentenced 36-year-old Don Lee Alexander to three years of supervised release following his 30-month prison term.
Alexander pleaded guilty in November to robbing a Whitney Bank branch in Metairie on Aug. 19, 2011.
Prosecutors say Alexander escaped with more than $6,000 after demanding money in a note he handed to a teller.
The FBI arrested Alexander after former co-workers recognized him from a photograph released to local media outlets.
