BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Louisiana Lt. Gov. Jay Dardenne is offering golfers in Alabama a chance to win free rounds of golf at Louisiana's Audubon Golf Trail courses if the Crimson Tide is victorious over LSU in the BCS National Championship Game in New Orleans.
It's a twist on the often-inconsequential "wagers" placed between politicians before major sporting events.
Television ads are running throughout Alabama, featuring Dardenne encouraging golfing enthusiasts to visit
www.LouisianaTravel.com and register for a chance to win one of 100 prizes, each comprising two rounds of golf at Audubon Golf Trail courses.
The ads, funded entirely by a new grant from BP, also show Dardenne praising the top two football teams in the country, predicting a Tiger victory.
