NEW ORLEANS (AP) - The federal Labor Department has awarded Louisiana just under $390,000 to get the unemployed back to work and to gauge the eligibility of jobless benefit recipients.
The money is part of $48.7 million the Labor Department awarded for such programs in 37 states and the District of Columbia.
Assessments include development of a re-employment plan for those on jobless benefits and referrals to employment services or job training.
