A New Orleans-area dredging company has won $25.1 million in Army Corps of Engineers contracts for work in New Jersey and Louisiana.
A news release from the Pentagon says Weeks Marine Inc. of Covington has a $17.3 million contract for flood control and emergency repair work at Absecon, N.J., through the Corps' Philadelphia office.
It says it also has a $7.8 million contract for maintenance dredging at Plaquemines, La., through the New Orleans office.
According to a list of contracts awarded Wednesday, two companies bid through the Internet for each of those contracts.
The website for Weeks Marine Inc., of Cranford, N.J., lists Covington as the site of its dredging office.
