Lafayette, LA- It's a bird! It's a plane! No, It's a deejay! United Blood Services is starting 2010 off with a bang. "JayCee" Falcon, KTDY 99.9 deejay, will sit on the billboard in front of United Blood Services and will not come down until 99.9 pints of blood are drawn! The event will take place at the United Blood Services donor center located at 1503 Bertrand Drive, starting at 7 a.m. on December 31 and will not end until JayCee reaches his goal.

All participants will register to win many prizes including, but not limited to, gift certificates to Mr. Lester's Steakhouse, RikRak, Loco, and Café Bayou, and gift certificates for a massage, haircut and style, and a hair makeover all from Elevations Spa and Salon. There will also be tickets for the Andy Smith Band, Travis Matte, and the Family Stone concerts. And best of all, one lucky participant will win a New Orleans Saints football jersey just in time for the playoffs!

United Blood Services encourages donors to schedule an appointment online at www.bloodhero.com. All participants that schedule and keep their appointment for this event will receive a FREE movie ticket through UBS rewards program.

United Blood Services relies entirely on volunteer donors to maintain a constant and sufficient blood supply for hospitals located in this community. All donors must be at least 16 years of age and weight 110 pounds to donate. Donors can safely donate blood every eight weeks for a whole blood donation and 16 weeks for a double red cell donation.
