A Lafayette radio station has granted air time to the Democratic candidate in the Third Congressional District race. Ron Richard will be interviewed Monday morning on KPEL-FM in the 8:00 hour. The Richard camp says KPEL-FM today offered their candidate equal time after he protested Wednesday's debate, saying it "created a cloud of bias around the station." Jeremy Lawrence, brand manager of KPEL-FM, says station employees have been reaching out to Richard for the past three weeks, but they say they only heard from him in the last few days. In a release, KPEL maintains that Richard "had no right to participate in (Wednesday's) debate." KPEL also says that it did not offer Richard "equal time," but a block of interview time "as a public service."
