October is Breast Cancer awareness month and the Susan G Komen foundation is committed to a world without breast cancer. In Louisiana, one in eight women will be diagnosed with some type of cancer, also, Louisiana is number one in breast cancer mortality.
This year, Komen Acadiana will hold its annual Race for the Cure in Gerard Park on March 20, 2010. Interested participants can log on to komenacadiana.org and fill out a registration form, teams are encouraged. This coming race has a few new events like a jambalaya cook-off and a team t-shirt concert.
