March 15 will mark the 15th Annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® in Lafayette. Since 1999, Komen Acadiana has raised over $2.7 million for breast cancer research, screening, education and treatment for its six-parish service area. Race registration is now open, and the public is invited to join in the fight against breast cancer by creating a race fundraising team today.
In an effort to utilize all funds raised to the betterment of our community, Komen Acadiana will not be mailing Race for the Cure Packets this year. Packets will be available for pick up on March 8th at the OncoLogics and Louisiana Oncology Associates offices located in the Medical Building at 4809 Ambassador Caffery Parkway, Lafayette, LA 70508. Packet pickup will be open from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm on March 8th at this location.
Team Captains can pick up packets for their entire team, captains just need to bring a list of their team members. Anyone who has yet to register for Race for the Cure may register onsite at packet pickup on this day.
The 2014 Race for the Cure has many exciting changes. Find race day details and register online until the night of March 5th at www.komenacadiana.org.
