Kids Get Fingerprinted for Free

Ragin Cajun athletes came out to support a safety event at Cajun Field Saturday afternoon.

Free fingerprinting by the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office was offered to kids ages 3 to 12. Kids also enjoyed games, face painting, and visiting with UL athletes.

Carleigh Martin, President of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee says it's important to have your child's fingerprints on file just incase the unexpected would occur. "God forbid if something were to ever happen to your child, but if needed, you would have the fingerprints you could give to the sheriff's department and that way you could find your kid or solve the case that much faster. I think it is important to always have backup just incase something were to happen."
