Kenner Marine Funeral Set for Wednesday

A Kenner Marine Killed in Afghanistan will be buried this week. Sgt. Joseph Bovia, 24, died August 31 in a shootout in Marjah. He had served two tours of duty in Iraq, before volunteering for this latest mission in Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 3rd Combat Assault Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
Sgt. Bovia's visitation is Tuesday September 7 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.at First Baptist Church in New Orleans, 5290 Canal Blvd. His funeral is Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m.
He will be buried in Metarie.
