Keiosha Felix was reported missing on April 30th of last year. Police initially believed she was a run-away child, but investigations later changed the case to a missing person.
Several arrests were made early on in the case. Keiosha's aunt and cousin were facing obstruction of justice charges, but later released. Ronald Wilkerson, the aunt's boyfriend, was arrested on second-degree kidnapping and simple rape. Those charges were also dropped. A fourth person, Leon Wilkerson, Ronald's brother was arrested for kidnapping but also released.
Today, the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's office held a press conference to update the public on the Keiosha Felix investigation. "Our plea is to the public for anyone with information with regards to Keiosha, no matter how small they think it may be to come forward," said Captain Kip Judice.
The news conference didn't release any new information as to Felix's whereabouts, but her family asked the public for any help from the public. "If somebody else knows something else about my granddaughter, please call the policemen. Let the policemen look into whatever you know," says Joseph Earl.
Back in September, the Sheriff's office released a photo of a man who bought a cell phone sim card from a Lafayette AT&T store. The sim card was later used using Felix's password. The Sheriff's department has been unable to identify the man, and are still asking for your help in finding him.
"The most important part is that we remind the people who have information that the FBI does have a $5,000 reward for anyone who has information with regards to bringing Keiosha home," says Judice.
