AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Some displaced Katrina victims from New
Orleans lost their homes again in an apartment complex fire in
Austin on the fifth anniversary of the hurricane.
Authorities say at least half a dozen people were injured during
the blaze Sunday.
The cause of the fire, which damaged or destroyed more than a
dozen units, is sought. More than 40 residents were displaced.
Leslie Hypolite (hy-poh-lyte) says "this is unreal." Another
Katrina survivor, Locardier Fontenette, says "five years later,
look at what we go through."
Four people were taken to Austin-area hospitals. One woman was
transported to a hospital in San Antonio for treatment of burns.
Further details on their conditions were not immediately available.
Another woman broke her ankle and was treated at the scene.
