Kate Mundy joined the team at KATC TV3 in September 2007 as a weekend anchor/reporter. She was voted Louisiana Reporter of the Year by the Associated Press in 2008 and 2009.
Kate comes to KATC from the CBS affiliate in Birmingham, Alabama. At WIAT, Kate served as weekend anchor and general assignment reporter.
Prior to that, Kate was a morning anchor/education reporter at WMBB Panama City, Florida and a morning anchor/reporter at WNEG Toccoa, Georgia. She got her start at KBSH in Hays, Kansas as an anchor/reporter.
The Southern California native graduated from Indiana University with degrees in Journalism and Political Science. While going to school in Bloomington, Kate anchored and reported for Indiana University's PBS station, WTIU. Before she made the move to television, Kate wrote for IU's Yearbook, the Arbutus and served as morning radio news reporter for WFHB. Kate was also one of seven women who founded Indiana University's first Asian-American sorority.
Kate lives in Acadiana with her husband and son.
