Kaplan pedestrian crash victim condition improving

A Kaplan man who was struck by a car this weekend is expected to survive.

Kaplan Police Chief Boyd Adams says the victim, 63-year-old Billy Mire, remains in critical condition, but his condition is improving.

Mire was struck just before 9 p.m. Saturday at the corner of East First Street and Lemaire Street. No charges have been filed against the driver.

Adams says the investigation into the crash is still ongoing. He adds that once the investigation is complete, the case will be handed over to the district attorney's office for review.
