A cold case murder trial wraps up in St. Landry parish. After a three day trial, the jury deliberated two hours and acquitted a man in a 1998 murder.
Nelson Lafleur was found not guilty of second degree murder. He was arrested in 2007, following a DNA match from a statewide system. Arrests in North Louisiana required Lafleur to be swabbed for DNA, which led to his arrest.
The cold case he was tied to, involved a murder at a crack house on Olivia Street. Naomi Green, 35, was stabbed to death and sexually abused with a bottle.
