LIVINGSTON, La. (AP) - A Livingston Parish jury has found 25-year-old Allen Lee Martin of Ponchatoula guilty of aggravated rape and related crimes in connection with a February 2011 attack on an Albany woman.

The jury of 10 women and two men also convicted Martin Wednesday on charges of aggravated burglary, second-degree kidnapping and armed robbery.

District Attorney Scott Perrilloux tells The Advocate the aggravated rape conviction carries a mandatory life sentence.

Martin was accused of breaking into the victim's apartment and accosting her while she was taking a shower.

State District Judge Robert Morrison will sentence Martin on April 2.
