A federal judge has struck down a motion to dismiss bribery charges against two members of the St. Landry Parish School Board. Attorneys for Quincy Richard and John Miller argued the federal court has no jurisdiction in the matter because the case does not directly involve federal money. Judge Richard Haik disagreed and allowed the case to continue. Miller and Richard are accused of trying to sell their superintendent vote to Joseph Cassimere, the St. Landry Parish School System's current interim superintendent. The board is scheduled to elect a superintendent Thursday night at its regular meeting.
