NEW ROADS, La. (AP) A state judge has revoked the $250,000 bond set for a man charged in the death of his girlfriend last year.

In rescinding Larry J. Snyder Jr.'s bond on Wednesday, prosecutors say District Judge James Best described him as an imminent threat to society and a flight risk.

The Advocate reports the 36-year-old Snyder was free on bond when he smashed his car into an unmarked Ascension Parish sheriff's vehicle on May 30 and then fled the scene.

Snyder is scheduled to return to a New Roads courtroom July 12 to stand trial in the death of 32-year-old Davina Ann Chapman.

Authorities say Snyder allegedly kidnaped Chapman on July 18, 2009 from a Krotz Springs bar. Her body was found the next day under a bridge east of Krotz Springs.
