A 44-year-old Baton Rouge man has been resentenced to 20 years in prison in the 2009 shooting death of another man during an argument outside an Airline Highway club.
State District Judge Trudy White originally sentenced Willie Dunn Jr. to 20 years in 2011 following his manslaughter conviction, but she ordered that "a minimum of 15 years" of the term be served without benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence.
Dunn's attorneys asked White in 2012 to reconsider the sentence. The judge denied the request.
In March, the state 1st Circuit Court of Appeal in Baton Rouge affirmed Dunn's conviction but threw out the sentence.
White on Monday again sentenced Dunn to 20 years in prison with credit for time already served.
