Jon Carrere

Jon Carrere joined the KATC News Team in January 2009. He is one of three reporter/Photographer teams at the station.
Carrere first worked with KATC in the Production Department while attending UL, after moving to Lafayette in 2005.
A native of New Orleans, Jon moved to the Acadiana area after Hurricane Katrina. He recalls, "It was a time when many people lost things, however I found my career."
In October 2006, Carrere left KATC to work the Fox Affiliate KADN in Sports Production. Following his time in Sports, he was on the first News Team at the station and developed his skills as a One Man Band Reporter.
In college, Carrere was honored with numerous awards including Best Radio News Reporter, Radio In-depth Reporting, and Best Radio Journalist.
He has enjoyed covering events in Acadiana and looks forward to doing so for some time to come.
