Jindals Honor Couple Married More Than 80 Years

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - The governor and his wife spent
Valentine's Day honoring a couple they say is the longest married in the state.
Ralph and Dorothy Richards, of Slidell, have been married for nearly 81 years, since Feb. 28, 1930.
Gov. Bobby Jindal and first lady Supriya Jindal held a reception Monday honoring the Richards and giving them a certificate applauding their marriage.
The Louisiana Family Forum has identified the state's longest married couple since 2002, and the Jindals have been holding a ceremony for the couple since the governor's took office in 2008.
