Jindal raises nearly $11,000 a day during campaign

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Gov. Bobby Jindal has raised money at a rate of $10,752 per day since the start of his term in 2008, and spent an average of $4,195 per day since then toward the goal of winning re-election.
A review of campaign finance records by The Times-Picayune (http://bit.ly/nqQkrl ) shows the governor has raised $14 million in the 3½ years since taking office, with the money coming from all 50 states. Documents filed with the state ethics board show Jindal has spent more than $5 million.
The Republican governor still has no well-known opponents for the Oct. 22 election.
Jindal's biggest expenses include fundraising at nearly $847,000, mailing expenses at $777,000, consultants at $537,000, interns and staff at $448,000 and travel at $242,000.
