NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Gov. Bobby Jindal is stressing that the BP
oil spill is far from over for Louisiana, even if the well is
capped.
Jindal held a news conference in New Orleans on Tuesday, just
after another of his aerial tours of Gulf waters. He said tens of
millions of gallons of oil are still in the Gulf and will have to
be dealt with for months or years, even if no more oil escapes from
the recently capped Deepwater Horizon well.
Jindal said he saw several areas of oily water on his trip and
that oil is again visible in Pass a Loutre, one of the areas where
delicate wetlands became fouled with oil soon after the spill.
